Terms of Service

Acceptance

By using the web tool at https://geminiwatermarkremover.dev or the Gemini Watermark Remover Chrome extension, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the products.

The team operating the products is referred to below as "we", "us", or "our". You are referred to as "you".

Age requirement

You must be at least 13 years old to use the products. If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you must be at least 16 years old. By using the products, you confirm that you meet the applicable age requirement. We do not knowingly allow users below these ages to create accounts or make purchases.

What you can use the products for

The products remove the four pointed star watermark Google embeds in images generated by Gemini and AI Studio. They are intended for individual users who want to clean their own generated images.

You may use the cleaned images for personal and commercial purposes subject to the underlying terms of the Google service that produced them and to applicable copyright law. We do not grant you any rights over the original image content.

Free trial

The Chrome extension provides 25 lifetime cleanings per device at no cost. The web tool provides 4 cleanings per day at no cost. These limits exist to control abuse and are subject to change. We will give 30 days notice before reducing the free quota for users who have already installed the extension.

Pro license

A Pro license unlocks unlimited cleanings.

  1. Scope. The license is lifetime, non transferable, and bound to the email address used at checkout. The license can be activated on up to three devices simultaneously. Devices can be deactivated and replaced from the dashboard at any time.
  2. Price changes. We may change the price of new Pro licenses at any time. Existing licenses are not affected.
  3. Inheritance. Licenses cannot be sold, gifted, or transferred to another email. Send a deletion request if you no longer want the license.

Refunds

You can request a refund within 14 days of purchase, for any reason, by emailing support@geminiwatermarkremover.dev with the email used at checkout. Refunds are processed within 5 business days. The license is revoked when the refund is issued.

After 14 days the purchase is final.

Acceptable use

You agree not to do any of the following.

  1. Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the extension or the web tool except as expressly permitted by law.
  2. Share, resell, or sublicense your Pro license. License keys observed on multiple unrelated email accounts may be revoked without refund.
  3. Use the products at industrial scale to launder image attribution at volume, including operating an image bulk processing service that wraps our products without our written permission.
  4. Use the products to remove watermarks from images you do not have the right to modify, including images generated by another person from a paid Gemini account that does not belong to you.
  5. Use the products to interfere with the security or integrity of Google services. The products only post process images that Google has already delivered to your browser. They do not bypass authentication, rate limits, or content moderation.
  6. Submit content to the web tool that is illegal under the laws of your jurisdiction or that depicts minors in sexual contexts.

We reserve the right to revoke licenses and disable accounts that we have a good faith reason to believe violate these terms. We will notify you by email and give you a chance to respond before permanent revocation, except in cases where immediate action is needed to prevent ongoing abuse.

Intellectual property

The product interfaces, the watermark removal pipeline implementation, the trained model weights distributed with the extension, and the documentation are owned by us. You receive a non exclusive license to use them as part of the products. You do not receive any right to redistribute, fork, or rebrand the products.

The original images you process belong to you to the extent that the underlying Google terms permit. We do not claim any rights over your images.

The MIGAN model included in the extension is derived from research published as "MI-GAN: A Simple Baseline for Image Inpainting on Mobile Devices" (ICCV 2023). The model weights are redistributed under the original research license. The implementation in the extension is our own.

Disclaimer

The products are provided on an "as is" basis. The watermark removal cannot guarantee perfect output in every case.

  1. The PNG reverse alpha pipeline recovers the original pixels exactly, but only when the image has been delivered as PNG. If Google delivers a JPG or WebP version, the pipeline returns the original unchanged.
  2. The MIGAN inpainter for JPG and WebP is a generative model. The output is plausible but not pixel accurate. On busy areas the inpainted patch may be visible.
  3. The watermark detection step uses normalized cross correlation and may fail to find the watermark on heavily edited images. In that case the original is returned unchanged rather than risk drawing a halo on clean pixels.

We do not warrant that the products will be error free, uninterrupted, or that any defects will be corrected.

Your responsibility for compliance

You are responsible for ensuring your use of the products complies with Google's terms of service for Gemini and AI Studio, including any terms that govern how generated images may be used or modified.

You are responsible for not removing visible attribution or watermarks from images that belong to third parties or that you do not have the right to modify. The products are intended for use on images you generated from your own account.

The products remove the visible four pointed star overlay that Google renders on Gemini and AI Studio images. They do not remove the SynthID watermark that Google embeds as an invisible signal in the pixel data of AI-generated images. Output images may remain detectable as AI-generated by SynthID, C2PA metadata inspection, model fingerprinting tools, and similar detection methods. We make no representation that processed images will pass any particular AI-detection test. Do not use the products in contexts where you intend to misrepresent an image as non-AI-generated.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or relating to the products will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or one hundred United States dollars, whichever is greater. We will not be liable for indirect, consequential, incidental, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, or business opportunities.

This limitation applies even if a remedy fails of its essential purpose.

Indemnification

You agree to defend and hold us harmless from claims by third parties arising out of your use of the products in violation of these terms or applicable law, including claims relating to image content you have processed.

Changes

We may update these terms by posting a new version with an updated date at the top of this page. Material changes will be communicated by email to active license holders at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date is acceptance of the new terms.

Termination

You may stop using the products at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access for violation of these terms. The acceptable use, intellectual property, disclaimer, limitation of liability, and indemnification sections survive termination.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of Hong Kong SAR, without regard to conflict of law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of Hong Kong SAR. If you are a consumer in a jurisdiction that grants you mandatory rights to a different forum or governing law, those mandatory rights are not affected.
